A Day in Life Working at Marshalls
One of the many perks of working at
Marshalls in the outstanding accommodations they make for all their workers.
Not only do they roll out the red carpet for you when you enter, but they also
greet you with countless questions regarding where you have been and that you
need to hurry up, no matter how early you may arrive, they are always there to
meet you. Once you get past the wonderful gaurds, you can walk down to the
VIP section of the store where you may enter with a secret code, its so secret in
fact that once you enter, everyone pretends they never saw you enter, never
heard you greet them, or ask how they’re doing. Leaving or entering the secret
VIP room can be a journey in itself, walking down the small hallway you may run
into the infamous creatures, also known as Karens. Most times marked by a pixie
cut or a Trump 2020 mask, you can see them storming over from a mile away. If
they’re not busy complaining about something out of your control, they’re busy
trying to spread COVID. And once you get past all that, you can finally take
your spot at the register where optimism and happiness is not allowed. It is a rare
occurrence to find kind people, almost as if they’re also busy hiding from the wild
Karens stomping around. You can ask them easy questions, such as “How are you
doing” or “Did you find everything alright?” and they don’t seem to understand, I
guess that’s why they don’t ever respond. Once at the register, no one is
allowed to leave. You have to pee? There’s a bottle for that. You’re sick? Maybe
you should have thought about that earlier. Even when your shift ends, they
will refuse to let you leave until it’s illegal to hold you, a minor, any
longer.
